Hi Antiquity Backers,
A quick update here before I go to prepare for author Fonda Lee's visit tomorrow at The Signed Page!
The Kickstarter for The King-Killing Queen and The Briar-Sword Monk is going really well. It's been so much fun seeing all of this come together with Skybound's aid and the gorgeous artwork from Magali Villeneuve, Donato Giancola, Nate Taylor, and even others. And seeing your enthusiasm online has allowed me to sleep at night. As of today, backers have pushed the Kickstarter up toward the $200,000 mark where a new amazing stretch goal will be revealed. I'm wowed and humbled by it all. THANK YOU if you've already pledged.
I know some of you haven't pledged yet. If you do intend to pledge at some point, now might be a good time HERE. It appears as though there are only about 215 Signed & Numbered copies left. And when that $200,000 stretch goal is unveiled, I'm betting many of those S&N copies are going to be snatched up rather quickly. Don't say I didn't warn ya!
For those of you not interested in that $200 set of books -- understandable because they are not cheap -- even the regular hardcovers of The King-Killing Queen and The Briar-Sword Monk will get foiled spines and front boards with the $200,000 stretch goal met. What is The Briar-Sword Monk?
The Briar-Sword Monk is a prequel graphic novel about Emmer, the warrior monk who played a pivotal role in the conflict between Man and Fae. His fabled sword Bruyere is the companion weapon to Lumiere, the blade which Sylvie will come to wield hundreds of years later.
Adapted from my original short story, The Briar-Sword Monk is drawn by Patrick Rothfuss’ illustrator Nate Taylor and serves as the perfect companion book for those looking for a deeper dive into the world of The King-Killing Queen.
