Hi All,
I forgot one little but important item in the last update.
It's been a while since we conducted the Kickstarter and you guys completed your survey. Please log into BackerKit.com and check that your mailing address is still correct. You should be able to update it there if you have need.
And if you can't figure out how to do that, just ask and I'll double-check.

A Quick Update, A Giveaway, and Supporting A Friend's Kickstarter

Hi Everyone,
Many of you just got an update for The Scions of Shannara Kickstarter. This one is similar with some added news.
First, it appears as though the printer has done their job and delivered the trade hardcover book blocks for The Tempered Steel of Antiquity Grey to the bindery. The bindery is planning on binding those books September 30th. All seems on track there. That's the good news. The bad? Two pallets have gone missing with the book blocks for The Undone Life of Jak Dreadth. The printer is trying to track them down now. I swear... nothing is easy.
But the good news? At least things are moving. Fingers crossed those pallets are found soon. The limited/lettered/rare books are still slated to be bound in December. But at least I can ship out pledges that only had the trade hardcovers in them.
Now, on to more fun things. The fine folks at Audible have partnered with me for a giveaway! If you love audiobooks, be sure to enter the giveaway for an audiobook copy of Antiquit Grey here:

Hi Backers,
A quick update about the Kickstarter and delivery.
As I've said in the past, all parts of the Kickstarter are completed on my end. This has been true since May. It's painful to have the work done so long ago and still waiting on books.
Well, why haven't the books arrived yet? The publishing industry has been having systemic delays in printing, binding, and delivering for the last six months or so. This is due to several different issues from COVID to paper shortages to delayed projects bottle-necking the whole process for all publishers. What would normally take 8-10 weeks for warehouse delivery of books after files are uploaded to the printer is now taking three times that time. This has affected all of our books, Sub Press books, etc. Today, I went into greater depth about all of this over on Grim Oak Press's website HERE. Definitely read it if you are wishing to know more.
What does all of this mean? It's a little complicated but I'll give it my best shot. The book blocks for the trade hardcovers of Antiquity and Jak were printed this week. They are enroute to the bindery and should arrive next week. The bindery has me in their queue for a September 30th ship date. So by October 10th, I should have the finished trade hardcovers in stock. That means those of you who backed those books without having backed limited/lettered/rare editions will see your pledge ship.
Well, what about the limited/lettered editions? That's trickier. The book blocks are printing now, which is late but I'll take it. But the bindery has said I'm in the specialty binding queue for early December, with copies mailing to my warehouse December 10th. As you can see, that is a great deal longer. Ugh. But there's nothing I can do about it. All I can do is grit my teeth and be completely prepared for when those books do arrive. And I will be.
I'm also having to push the release date of The Tempered Steel of Antiquity Grey trade hardcover bookstore release from September 7th to November 9th. The ebook and audiobook will still retain that September 7th date.
All of this is not ideal obviously. Like The Scions of Shannara Kickstarter, I'm going to try to figure out something extra special to give you all for having to wait. What would you like to see me do? I was thinking about writing an epilogue short story set after the events of Tempered Steel.

Page Proofs & A New Kickstarter

Hi Antiquity Backers,
Just a short update to share that page proofs for the books have arrived from the printer! I'll be going over those today and returning them today. See how fast I am? Obviously these books are late but most of it was out of my hands sadly. At the mercy of how busy the printer/binder is. At least I'm in the queue now, right?
And in other news, there is a new Kickstarter that just launched for an anthology titled THE KING MUST FALL. I was invited by the Grimdark Magazine guys. I decided to write epic fantasy, something I haven't done for a while, and I really loved what happened. My contribution became a 20,000-word novella -- so a huge piece that I think you guys will love. The anthology has some other great writers contributing to it too.
